Join us for “A Night at the Blind Pig Speakeasy” here at the Evanston History Center for our annual gala, Saturday, August 24. Don’t miss a fabulous evening of 1920s style signature cocktails, speakeasy-inspired cuisine, live music by The Fat Babies jazz band, and special performances throughout the evening!

In January of 1919, the Prohibition Amendment to the Constitution went into effect.  Evanston was already the epicenter for the temperance and prohibition movements, modeling and influencing national trends and opinions.  In this centenary year, the Evanston History Center turns its summer gala into an opportunity for the community not only to view the Dry Evanston:  The Untold Story exhibit but to experience a little of the Prohibition Era vibe as our history comes alive!
