We are all heartbroken. This past week’s events have been devastating. We firmly believe #Blacklivesmatter. We support efforts to bring justice to this country and decry and oppose racism in all its many forms. At EHC we believe that knowing our history is a powerful means to make meaningful and positive change. This year’s house walk featured the homes and stories of Evanston women and women’s organizations that had positive impacts on the community through their work in suffrage and politics.

We want to share some highlights from this year’s walk that feature the stories of some of Evanston’s most impactful and influential African American women. Special thanks to Shorefront Legacy Center for identifying these important women and sites. We encourage you to visit shorefrontlegacy.org.
