Adopt an Artifact

WWII Poster from the EHC Archives

The Evanston History Center has an Adopt-an-Artifact program!  Did you know that less than 5% of the Evanston History Center’s 100,000 artifacts are on display at any one time?  Meanwhile the rest of our collection still needs proper housing and care.

The Evanston History Center needs your help to properly care for all the artifacts in our collection. By participating in our Adopt-an-Artifact program,  your donations will help pay for the care, maintenance, conservation, and storage of our artifacts now and for future generations.

When you send in your adoption form and a payment to the History Center, we’ll send you a personalized adoption packet which includes a certificate of adoption, a picture of your artifact, and a description of its historical significance.  In an effort to be environmentally friendly we will send all of your information to you through e-mail.  Hard copies are also available upon request.

If you are interested in adopting an artifact click here to download the “Adopt-an-Artifact PDF Form”.  You can e-mail the form to Grace Lehner or mail it to the Evanston History Center at 225 Greenwood St, Evanston, IL 60201.  If you have any other questions, or would like to know what artifacts are available for adoption, call the EHC at 847-475-3410.
